Helped me learn about my grandparents

Created by Christine one year ago
Aunt Heather and I never met but we have been writing to each other for years. Her youngest sister, Shirley, was my mum. Mum was adopted at a very young age. Her mum had died and her dad couldn't cope with a young baby on his own. I say adopted, but there was no official paperwork. I never knew my biological grandparents, but Heather told me all about them, where they lived, what they did etc and shared some wonderful memories and photos. The last letter I received was just a few months before Christmas. We always corresponded at Christmas, but the last few years she always sent the letters early "just in case". Her letters were always so full of news, family gatherings, and of course the animals--hers until Twiggy finally passed away and my herd at home. i wish we could have met in person. I will miss her letters but I know she was getting tired and was ready to go. She is the last one of the four Claxton kids.
